HEbrews the Heart was born from a place of lived experience, deep faith, and a calling that could not be ignored. As a former prison wife and caregiver, Lakesha knows firsthand the weight of waiting, the long nights, the fear for a loved one’s safety, the emotional labor of holding a family together, and the stigma that shadows anyone who loves someone behind bars.
For five years, she carried the ache of separation while navigating a justice system that often forgets the humanity of the incarcerated and the families who love them. She remembers the loneliness, the judgment, and the quiet grief of being a woman who chose love in a world that doesn’t always believe in restorative justice. She remembers wishing for a place where she could be supported, understood, and strengthened, a place where faith and compassion could meet her in the waiting.
Hebrews 13:3 became her anchor: a biblical command to remember those in prison and to stand with them as if we were there ourselves. Bound by that scripture and shaped by her own journey, Lakesha created HEbrews the Heart, a faith‑rooted coaching space for prison wives and caregiving mothers who are navigating the same emotional terrain she once walked alone.
Just as a fresh cup of coffee brings warmth and steadiness, HEbrews the Heart offers a fresh pour of faith for those who wait. Through coaching, encouragement, and spiritual grounding, this LLC exists to remind women that they are not forgotten, not alone, and not defined by stigma. They are seen, valued, and worthy of support as they love, hope, and hold their families together through incarceration.
